Book and Author Information
Mark Haddon is a British author who was born in Northampton. To date he has had a very full career that has included working as a live-in home health aid, theater box office attendant, bicycle messenger, painter, and stints working in British television. While working as an illustrator for a number of newspapers, he also held part-time positions with agencies serving children and adults with a variety of handicaps. His first children's picture book, Gilbert's Gobstopper, was published in 1997, and he followed this debut with many more works including the popular Agent Z series. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was simultaneously released as both an adult and young adult title. Mark Haddon lives in Oxford with his wife and son.
